  4. I am struck by the pristine state of that dress. Those suspension bridges give me the "willies"!

  9. Thank you all for your kind comments. Prior to WW2 the family had a holiday house at Daylesford (a nearby town) called 'Mitiamo House' because they lived in Mitiamo. Hepburn Springs and Daylesford are spa towns in central Victoria. Joy married a farmer and lives on a wheat/sheep farm.

  10. What a fine picture - nut just a casual snap, but some thought has gone into the composition. As others have already said, welcome to Sepia Saturday.

  11. WOW. That is an amazing photo. Do you know if the bridge is still there? I have family that came from the same area and need to make time to visit.

  12. Great photo, this week I have a suspension bridge north of Vancouver too, but my photos from 1975 are not nearly so clear. Are suspension bridges common in that area?

  15. As Alan said, a thoughtful composition but the subject still got to choose her own expression. A terrific sepia photo.

  18. Great picture - I love the contrast between the neatness of the dress and the wild looking hair.

  19. Joy is a beautiful child. I don't know much about the history of fences so maybe it shouldn't, but it comes to me as a surprise that chain link fence was created before 1938!
