No monkey photos in my collection but I do have quite a few photos of my husband's Auntie Joy when she was a child in the 1930s. She always had pets of various sorts, and still does.
Joy and Sulphur-crested Cockatoo |
Joy and Australian Magpie |
Joy, Galah and rabbit |
Joy and rabbit |
Joy, dog and lamb (and mum) |
What a sweet photo of Joy and the magpie, but of all those pets, I'd choose the lamb. That one has a sweet face too.
ReplyDeleteFun photos to have. Love the lamb!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of great pets! I'd love to have a cockatoo but they take so much attention. I've had many a parakeet over the years, though, & our kids had the normal run of things: goldfish, hamster, white rat, dogs, & cats - but not all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl to have all those animals. I've just read a BBV article about a girl growing up with animals when her father started a zoo Some good pictures there too. http://goo.gl/Q9vYqK
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of Auntie Joy and her pets. That magpie must have been fed very well to be so tame.
ReplyDeleteShe obviously had no fear of being bitten by the birds. The first 2 photos are real gems. she looks so cute in her bonnet.
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I agree with Wendy, the lamb is sweet. These pets are better for a little girl than a monkey! Thanks fo rsharing these pictures.
ReplyDeleteJoy looks like she had a happy JOYful childhood.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are beautiful but I particularly like the first one. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteA girl who loves animals that much must have become a vet surely. Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteNo. She was married to a farmer and is still very much interested in activities on the farm that her son now manages. For many years she also sold eggs from the numerous freerange chickens she had.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I finally got round toio looking at your posts as seeing peoples pets is always enjoyable.
